FLORAL 40’S IN THE DAISY DRESS

I’m sure we’re all already fed up of this cold weather, I definitely am. I have been channelling Spring recently with the colours in my wardrobe in the hope of influencing the sun to come out just a little bit, and this weekend, it actually paid off would you believe?!

Recently the BFI have been showing some of the gorgeous Katharine Hepburn’s movies and this led me into a spiralling journey on the internet into stalking Hepburn’s fab style. So the Daisy dress goes out to you Kath.

I went for a chilly, but sunny Sunday afternoon tea with a couple of friends, and I made sure my outfit was flattering at the waist, showed off a wrap around, V neckline and my hair included a deep side part – the key ingredients for 40’s influenced casuals.

The Daisy dress allowed me to finally showcase one of my charity shop hats I’d found before Christmas, and match it up with a Clinique lipstick Santa gave to me (0E- POWER WITH PINK). Don’t fret if you’re not a pink person though, there are enough flecks of purples, pinks and burgundies within the flowers of the dress, so you can make your makeup flatter, whatever your colouring.

I did however leave my perfectly matching wine coloured Kurt Geigers at my parent’s house, so went for some my white, vintage dreamboat shoes instead. Again, you can’t really go wrong when colour matching shoes, coats or handbags with the Daisy dress - warm pinks, browns and creams are a sure fire
match!

Despite the temperature being low, the dress has a full cotton lining so kept my legs warm and means it won’t cause static if you’re wearing your nylons.

I  always say they should create a size 9 just for my figure but thanks to thick waist tie, there is plenty of scope to flatter all waist sizes (I am wearing a size S).
I also must confess that I didn’t actually iron the dress before wearing it, naughty I know, but great news for those of you, like me, who don’t fancy getting out the ironing board. Just wash on 30 and hang to dry, yay!

Hope you like my influence of Spring... I think the days feel longer already.
